Sad by true, I've been working on this project on and off for two years. It's evolved, gotten bigger, gotten smaller, evolved again and may very well never be completed. Basically, I'm going to stop projecting a completion date. My intention now is to do it as a stripped down acoustic album. For full band arrangements I'll leave to Von Varagon Society, my band project, which has also been delayed, BUT IS NOT DEAD. As far as the digital tracks I've already prepared, well, I'll find a use for them somewhere. |

I've made some good progress, but I'm no where near where I thought I'd be in this project by this time. I'm okay with that because though the parameter changes have pushed out the completion date, I'm more confident that the end result will be better. Another key musician lined up, that's progress. Again, I'm not quite ready to post names, but soon. Guitar and verses vocals recorded for Misfortune's Sister, again, nice progress. Lyrics finally written for One More Disaster, progress and a relief. One major step is I've named the project. A year ago I began work on a screenplay about a cult-like Ufology group named the Von Varagon Society. I even designed the logo. Well, the script stalled, but I like the name and the logo so much that I couldn't let it go to waste. So check on the site, www.vonvaragon.com. Not much there right now, mostly working pages, but once again, it is progressing. |

Back in November I set the personal goal of completing some sort of solo recording project by May. My original intent was to just to record acoustic guitar and vocals for five songs. Well, as I've mentioned before, it's all gotten a little more ambitious than that. It's May now and the acoustic recording isn't done. I'd be disappointed in myself, except I'm really pleased with the progress I've made on the full instrumental versions. |

As I've shared here before I'm putting together a band in support of my current recording project. If you've never tried to pull together a group of musicians about the only thing close to the experience would be a cross between organizing a family reunion and having young children. Yes, it is both that fun and that difficult. There are plenty of hard parts. |

Like most sound recording amateurs I have my own mix master methods that are based mostly on gut feeling and test after test after test. At least I thought they were my own methods, until a week or so ago. |
